FLORHAM PARK - The Borough Council unanimously approved its "fourth round" affordable housing plan at a special meeting on Monday, June 25, five days before a state-mandated deadline.
The state required municipalities to establish their plans for achieving its fourth round of affordable housing requirements by the end of June. The first round followed a New Jersey Supreme Court decision made 50 years ago that established a doctrine through which the state mandates volumes of affordable housing development in each of its 565 municipalities.
